We’re super pleased to share that our PBSA-led, mixed-use repurposing of a redundant office building in Elephant & Castle has been highly commended in the Planning Awards 2025.
Hot on the heels of receiving unanimous planning consent, 182-202 Walworth Road has been recognised in the Mixed Use Development category in Planning Resource’s annual awards.
The judges praised the “very highly commended” scheme for its “significant community benefit” and “the level of consultation to ensure the diverse local people have all had the opportunity to be included”.
The project is the first in our new living-led regeneration strategy, and dramatically remodels an unloved eyesore into a 130,000 sq ft positive landmark on the high street, centred on community, food and nature.
Demonstrating that student accommodation can meaningfully address and respond to the needs of local people. While building connections, tackling loneliness and delivering genuinely affordable new homes.
Huge thanks to our world-class project team. And to all the incredible members of the Walworth community, who turned up time and time again, heard us out, fed in their thinking and helped build the vision, not least our Community Kitchen partner Pembroke House.
And congratulations to all our fellow commended and winning schemes!
Now in their twelfth year, The Planning Awards recognise and celebrate the transformative power of planning and placemaking – showcasing outstanding work across conservation, urban design, infrastructure, partnerships, regeneration and housing.
