Every Thursday and Friday afternoon, Penrose Hall fills with energy as local young people come together for the Penrose Youth and Creative Clubs, run by Active Communities Network.

It is a warm, welcoming space in the heart of Walworth, where young people can relax, build friendships and enjoy positive time together.

Through our Walworth Road project and the Fabrix Sustainable Communites JV with Patrizia, we are proud to support both clubs. Our ongoing contribution helps provide hot, home cooked meals and fresh fruit for young people at the Youth Club, alongside healthy snacks for those attending the Creative Club.

The Youth Club runs weekly on Fridays for 10-19 year olds across two sessions, while the Creative Club takes place every Thursday for young people aged 10-18, attended preominantly by local girls and young women. Together, the sessions combine nutritous food with creative and social activities led by Zara and her amazing lcoal team, to support wellbeing and strengthen local connnections.

We’ve gained so much when volunteering across both clubs, helping to build trusted relationshps and listen to the voices of local young people. It’s a key plank of our long term commitment to Walworth, ensuring local young people continue to shape the future of this work and our wider community programme.

By combining good home-cooked food, creative activity and a welcoming space, the Penrose Youth and Creative Clubs help young people in Walworth feel supported, connected and valued.

Sharing good food plays a simple but powerful role in creating a sense of care, routine and belonging.
