FREE HOLIDAY CLUB BUILDING COMMUNITY LINKS IN BOW

We had the best time kicking off our new partnership with the brilliant Bromley-by-Bow Community Organisation (BBBCO), with a six-day club over the school holidays for young people on the Coventry Cross Estate.

This amazing grassroots charity, entirely volunteer-run, works tirelessly to empower the local community of Bromley-by-Bow – an area where we at Fabrix are heavily active. The organisation uses sport and other creative activities as a tool to divert younger members from drugs, violence, anti-social behavior and territorial dispute, and to support other vulnerable residents.

180 children took part across the six days, all completely free of charge – with head coach Shakil and his team doing an incredible job, building their confidence and keeping them active through football, cricket, basketball, obstacle courses and crafts.

We were entirely blown away by the kids and coaches after just one session with them – and can’t wait to continue honing our friendship-bracelet and handstand skills with them all over again in the Summer.

This was just the first of a whole programme of initiatives we’ll be supporting the BBBCO on throughout the year – so watch this space!

“This doorstep activity would not have taken place for the kids in the community without our new partnership with Fabrix. With the cost of living crisis affecting many residents, this free half term project, with a free meal provision, will go a long way to support those families in need, along with building positive outcomes and skills for the children.”
