The Bottle Factory

Hussain Manawer, ‘the Original Mummy’s Boy’ is a poet and mental health campaigner from Ilford, Essex. As an ambassador for Samaritans, he has been working to reach young audiences on the importance of mental health.

The newly refurbished Bottle Factory provided a perfect space for Hussain and a small crew to film a recital of one of his own poems for the promotion of his upcoming poetry book launch – available to preorder here! We are thrilled to have such an inspiring and important voice making use of our Peckham-based location and look forward to his future projects.

Recently, Hussain Manawar was featured in Prince Harry and Oprah’s collaborative documentary on mental health, ‘The Me You Can’t See‘, and has also spoken at The BAFTAS, on Good Morning Britain and the BBC.

What mental health needs is more sunlight, more candour, and more unashamed conversation
