We are excited to welcome two major new occupiers Atelier Ellis and Espasso to The Bottle Factory – our creative hub for urban industry in SE1.
Both brands join a growing creative community of makers, designers and producers in the restored Victorian warehouse complex, brought back into use for modern urban manufacturers and creatives. Their arrival follows strong demand for space, with the buildings now over 50 per cent let.
Atelier Ellis opens its new London studio and workshop on the ground floor of the main warehouse. Founded by designer Cassandra Ellis, the studio is home to the brand’s sustainable, bio-based paints, created using natural materials and traditional water-based processes. Their work is rooted in colour, craft and the creation of emotionally resonant interiors.
ESPASSO launches its new UK showroom at The Bottle Factory, bringing Brazilian mid-century and contemporary furniture design to south east London. Founded in Sao Paolo and already established in New York, Los Angeles and Miami, ESPASSO champions Brazil’s design heritage while supporting contemporary designers on a global stage.
They join a mix of creative and production-led businesses already based at The Bottle Factory, including Thames Distillers and the London Coffee Factory, as well as a host of smaller creative businesses and start-ups operating from dedicated first-floor studios.
The Bottle Factory is a repurposed Victorian warehouse complex tucked away off the Old KentRoad. Built in 1895 and originally home to a bottling works, we have brought the buildings back into use through a sensitive, reuse-first approach – revealing characterful spaces for urban industry, studios and workshops, all upgraded to modern environmental standards.
As with all our projects, community and connection sit at the project’s heart. Alongside workspace, the buildings host a programme of markets, exhibitions and activations that bring the wider neighbourhood into the site and celebrate its creativity.
And this is only the beginning – we look forward to continuing to grow and nurture the Bottle community – keeping industry and manufacture on the Old Kent Road – and spotlight the people and ideas that make it what it is.
“The Bottle Factory is rapidly evolving into a hub for dynamic and independent maker focused enterprises, which are exactly the kind of occupiers Fabrix envisioned for the space.
The warehouse not only honours Old Kent Road’s long standing history of enterprise and craftsmanship but also readies it for the future by uniting a community of local creatives.
We’re thrilled to welcome Atelier Ellis and Espasso to the Bottle creative community”
