Blackfriars Crown Court

Although Black History Month has been internationally recognised for over 40 years, it has perhaps never felt more crucial than now. In light of the protests and grassroots action in the wake of racial tensions in the US, Solidarity Sounds are producing ‘Change the Record’, an event aimed at bringing awareness to racial issues in our society, and more importantly to give often underrepresented voices a platform.

Solidarity Sounds create events for causes they care about and in 2020 alone they raised nearly £5k for charity and non-profit organisations. With the latest Covid-19 restrictions in place, Solidarity Sounds decided to adapt their traditional live format to a digital live event – using Blackfriars Crown Court to film and record speakers, poets, activists and a criminal lawyer, who previously worked at Blackfriars Crown Court, who provides important information and advice on knowing your rights within the criminal justice system.

Don’t you think it’s time to #CHANGETHERECORD?
